DIY Pallet Goat Stand
This week, I had a chance to create a video to explain exactly how I Build a Goat Stand Using a pallet, scraps and a simple toolkit. It’s simple, cheap and easy! Starting over on our farm has lead us to lots of new projects like this one, that are simple but so necessary. One of my favorite things about this project was how we were able to use reclaimed and recycled materials, making it totally free! Nothing is better than free when it comes to farm projects, especially when my end goal for this farm is sustainability. We’re working on being fully set up for our livestock, and this DIY pallet project got us one step closer.
Goat milk stands, also known as stanchions, are extremely useful when it comes to milking goats, administering shots and medication, and clipping goat hooves. I use my goat milking stanchion every single day, and the goats love the attention, too. Enjoy a peek at our homestead where I raise dwarf goats for milk, cheese, yogurt, kefir, soap, and a thousand other things. I raise miniature donkeys as livestock guardians, and practice sustainable permaculture and regenerative farming techniques to improve the soil, raise nutrient dense produce, and share inspiration and knowledge along the way.
