Finding “green” or fresh-cut wood is one of the biggest challenges that people have when getting started carving spoons. By purchasing a green spoon blank from us, you’re supporting a full time spoon carver, chasing their dreams of self employment. Grab your carving tools and get ready for a truly delightful carving experience.

You will receive one, hand split, rough shaped spoon blank in an available wood type. Our blanks are prepped and wrapped in plastic to maintain moisture content. We recommended you carve the blank immediately upon receipt or to store the blank in your freezer to preserve the moisture content of the blank, until you’re ready to carve it, and to defrost it for at least two hours prior to carving.

Wood type is subject to seasonal availability in the area our spoon carving partners are in. At this time we cannot offer a choice of woods but the current types of wood you may be sent are: Cherry, Walnut, Sycamore, Persimmon or Maple.

**Note: We create and send spoon blanks in batch orders, so please allow 2 weeks for your blank to be created, and, once shipped, expect shipping times to vary during the holiday season.
